Do You Have a Constitutional Right to Choose What to Eat?

by Joanne

in Food Politics

Our government doesn’t think we have a right to control the food that goes into our mouths. In the name of safety, the federal government entangles itself illegally into what is the states’ responsibility. Is this really because of safety issues or is it an economic decision based on which industry has the most dollars to lobby and contribute to political campaigns?

What role should the state and federal government play in agriculture, and how much control should they have? Should they have a right to say that raw milk is dangerous and therefore should be prohibited from sale? And once they have their way with raw milk, what’s next? Will they control what goes into the small farm compost pile? Where you can sell lettuce and if it must be irradiated?

Rob Taylor, who ran for the U.S. Senate seat for Wisconsin, is a raw milk advocate, and yet he was against the bill in Wisconsin to legalize raw milk. Is Rob the enemy of raw milk enthusiasts or does he see something others don’t see?

In this interview we discuss the political players in agriculture, how the federal government continually violates the Constitution by dictating policy to the states, the one official who can protect us from government interference, and what people need to do to take back their government to protect their access to the foods they want to eat.

Rob also explains what was wrong with the proposed raw milk legislation in Wisconsin and why it’s good it didn’t pass.

Total time: 40 minutes.

Bio

Rob Taylor ran for the Wisconsin US Senate seat in 2010 and intended to restore the principles on which these United States were founded. Rob refuses to stand by while disregard for these principles, the corruption of process, and the abuse of power in our nation’s capital continue, and he feels that this campaign was the only legal means available to help bring us back on course. He no longer believes in the two parties running our political system, which is why he ran on the Constitution Party platform. You can learn more about Rob Taylor at Rob Taylor for Senate.

Great interview, Joanne, I enjoyed it. Being a good citizen is hard work, as Mr. Taylor said. Just recently my husband and I applied for absentee ballots for the primary election. It took a great deal of time and effort to research all the candidates in order to make informed choices. There were 10 candidates for 1 of the offices! 10! It took hours to search out all their websites and determine their positions on important issues. To maximize my efforts, I passed on all the information I had acquired to friends and relatives who I knew would want to be informed.
And yes, it’s so aggravating the way the govt. interferes in our basic right to feed ourselves. It didn’t happen overnight, though. It’s true that every time you give the govt. a little more power over you, even for something that seems good at the time (seatbelts?) you pave the way for the loss of more freedoms down the road. It truly is a slippery slope.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Barbara. I spent a couple days this week videotaping some people who were fighting the banks in court to keep their homes that were being foreclosed on. I got a first-hand view of an incredibly corrupt banking and court system: fraud, forgery, theft, collusion.

One of the problems, as I currently understand it, is the 14th Amendment. Before then we were Citizens of the State in which we reside. The 14th Amendment made us citizens of the United States, which is a corporate entity. So we lost our sovereignty and are now basically employees of the corporate U.S., which means the laws of the Constitution no longer apply to us.

Under the 14th Amendment, we no longer have “rights.” We have “privileges,” which are granted by the government and can be withdrawn at will. We are now subservient to Congress, our masters. The 14th Amendment was not properly ratified and violates the Constitution and is therefore illegal. But the Senators and Representatives who “serve” us (actually, we now serve them) won’t do anything about it though they know about it. They all need to be voted out.

The only hope for restoring our freedom as protected by the Constitution and Bill of Rights is to vote in candidates who are supporters of the Constitution. Issues are distractions. If we can get the illegal 14th Amendment repealed, then out go much of the government control and taxation and we can once again be a free people.

This is my understanding of it, but I am new to studying the laws of the land. I will vote, however, for candidates who want to restore the Constitutional Republic. Then put the federal government back into its place and let the States decide on the various issues.

Want to know how much money the federal government is giving Wisconsin DATCP? Max Kane posted the figures on his website.

Have you ever heard of the law of reciprocity? It’s the ol’ “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine.” How can a State be autonomous when it relies on so much money from the federal government?

I appreciate that Rob Taylor is supporting Wisconsin’s farmers and consumers. I would like to give him my full support.

I would like to share with your supporters these websites, especially if you are a farmer:

I do not work for David Blume or sell any of his products. However, I do think that he is on the right track for the most part. We as a nation send over $700 Billion overseas EVERY YEAR because of our dependency on foreign oil. Wouldn’t we rather buying our fuel from our farmers who in turn will spend that money in OUR economy, rather than funding foreign economies where funds often end up in terrorist’s hands? Brazil imports ZERO oil and is energy independent. All of their vehicles are flex-fuel, and half of the country runs it’s vehicles on 100% ethanol. If they could get their act together, why can’t we?

For all of those naysayers out there, don’t be a slave to all of the myths that the oil companies have spread. Ethanol is profitable despite what you have heard on the corporate controlled media. The “waste” product of ethanol production from corn, which is water, protein and fat, can be used as feed for livestock or fish. It is better for them than feeding whole corn to them as shown by increased milk and meat production in these animals. Don’t like corn ethanol? You can make ethanol from sweet potatoes, jerusalem artichokes, sorghum, sugar cane, and sugar beets, as well as other food crops. Do you believe that using food stock for fuel will increase food prices? You can use mesquite pods, kelp, algae, and cattails for ethanol production. It is estimated that if you filled every drainage ditch alongside roads in this country with cattails and harvested them, you could supply 100% of our nations energy needs, just from this one process alone. You can also treat raw sewage in this manner, without having to build a single treatment station!

In these hard economic times, we should be buying American first, and this includes our economy. Buy local whether it is food, clothing, industry, food, or fuel. Why not start buying our fuel from ourselves?
